Digital Elections

A lot of conversation over taking elections to the digital space has been raised, but many critics cast doubt on this idea.

The internet is not as secure a place as many believe, there are constant threats in cyber space and hacking is a routine occurrence. There are multi-million dollar criminal enterprises that engage in the theft of data and the hacking of major websites. It isn’t out of the realm of possibility for someone to manipulate election data if elections were conducted online.

Even if the internet were a secure enough place to host elections it would not sit well with a lot of people, and if people do not trust the system this will create more problems than it will solve.
