Facebook and Google Collude for Ad Empire?

Tech Company Logos

Most of the ads that you see online are from Google or Facebook, these are the two companies responsible for bringing the majority of ads to internet users around the country. Most websites do not have a great deal of control over the ads that appear on their site, they click a button to add an ad onto the site and Google, Facebook, or any number of very small companies put something up in that spot. New allegations would suggest that Google and Facebook carved out a wicked deal to crush their already small competitors into dust.

A group of state attorney generals is alleging that Facebook COO, Sheryl Sandberg, signed the deal with Google, a company she used to be a senior member of, that guaranteed that Facebook would bid in and win a fixed percentage of ad auctions. These allegations were made public via unredacted court filings. These same court filings also allege that Zuckerberg and Pichai both signed off on the deal.

These are the actions of companies that clearly wish to stomp out any competition in their space, these are not the actions of companies that support a free and fair market.
