I don’t believe Republicans would have lost the seats in the Senate if Trump had not kept pressing on the election counts, even if there is some truth to the issues he raised. I think Republicans got outsmarted on that, hopefully not again. Republicans can’t take a chance and risk losing in 2024 by nominating Trump. A Desantis nomination would help secure Florida and would provide a mainstream alternative to the crazy Democrats.

Let Trump have a chance at the job that was stolen from him, if he’s up to it then, with De Santis as his VP and a likely successor in 2028. But, I agree, Trump’s name calling is his weakness and what leads to a lot of the divisiveness- which certainly costs him votes. Either way, though, DeSantis will appeal to the younger voters which Trump may have already alienated.

he is not planning a run in 2024. I would like Trump to be in the White House in 2024 with
