On Wednesday, reports broke that Madeleine Albright has passed away from a battle with cancer.

Albright was 84 years old and was America’s first female Secretary of State.

Albright’s family confirmed her passing through a statement to her Twitter account.

“We are heartbroken to announce that Dr. Madeleine K. Albright, the 64th U.S. Secretary of State and the first woman to hold that position, passed away earlier today. The cause was cancer. She was surrounded by family and friends. We have lost a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend,” her family said in a statement.

Fox News reports:

Born Marie Jana Korbelova, Albright immigrated to the United States from Czechoslovakia with her family in 1948. She earned her PhD from Columbia University in 1975, and worked for former Sen. Edmund Muskie and Zbigniew Brzezinski on the National Security Council.

She later served in the administration of former President Bill Clinton, first as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations and then as secretary of state.

“A tireless champion of democracy and human rights, she was at the time of her death a professor at Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service, chair of Albright Stonebridge Group, part of Dentons Global Advisors, chair of Albright Capital Management, president of the Harry S. Truman Scholarship Foundation, chair of the National Democratic Institute, chair of the U.S. Defense Policy Board, and an author,” her family further explained.

“She founded the Albright Institute for Global Affairs at Wellesley College, served as a lifetime trustee of The Aspen Institute, and was a member of the chapter of the Washington National Cathedral.”

  1. Icon, not in my view, more like incompetent, got her job because she was female. Hey, maybe that’s why all the “transgenderism now?”

  2. Forgive me if I don’t shed a tear for this swamp dwelling scumcrat leader! Finally in her resting place with Beelzebub!
    Good riddance!

  3. Rest in Peace! Your legacy, as the first incompetent woman to achieve high office in America, will live forever.

  4. Icon??? You gotta be joking. I know it’s not right to speak ill of the dead. So, I’ll leave it at that. She was mostr definitely not an American Icon

  5. Although she was a Dem, I really did like her, sometimes she would agree with the Republican, mostly with the Dems, because she didn’t want to hurt their feelings. May she rest in Peace.

  6. Not sure about teh icon part from what Ive read? however that is between her and her maker Father God
