Is a feud brewing between former President Donald Trump and new Twitter owner Elon Musk?
The multi-billionaire smacked Trump’s social media app TRUTH Social for its “terrible name” and said the app only exists because of Twitter’s censorship– an issue Musk says he intends to tackle head-on.
Fox Business reports:
Musk, who struck a deal Monday to buy the social media giant for roughly $44 billion, replied to a post he wrote late Tuesday that showed Truth Social has passed Twitter on a ranking of Top Free Apps in Apple’s app store.
“Truth Social (terrible name) exists because Twitter censored free speech,” Musk wrote.
“Should be called Trumpet instead!” the SpaceX CEO replied shortly after, referencing the fact that Truth Social was founded by former President Donald Trump’s Trump Media & Technology Group.
Musk, who has frequently criticized Twitter for its abundant censorship, has said he intends to use the platform to promote free speech.
Trump and Musk have had a friendly relationship in the past. On Tuesday, Musk enraged his liberal critics by tweeting that Twitter’s suppression of the Hunter Biden laptop story was “obviously incredibly inappropriate.”
Wow, man, ouch. So Musk went after the name of an app…….shocking. But, he hit the nail on the head stating the reason the app exists is because Trump was kicked off an application that he now owns. Fix it. And, this article sucks.

I am a huge president Trump fan, but I hate to say this but Elon Musk is right. Truth social has proved that twitter has a monopoly, because right now I still can’t get Truth Social. I think that when it was first created it was a great idea, it was meant as a platform to allow the truth to be posted, when it wasn’t allowed on twitter. However now that Elon Musk owns twitter, twitter will finally allow the truth to be posted. I created a twitter account just to support Elon Musk, and I hope that President Trump rejoins twitter. I don’t believe the 2 should start a feud since they are basically on the same side. They should join forces instead.

Before Musk gets too cocky he needs to fix all of the flaws on the Twitter platform not just the censorship issue, the very limited amount of letters you can type in the replies has to go as well!
My understanding is that Truth Social doesn’t just give an alternative to Twitter, but to other platforms like FaceBook, for example.
I’m not so sure Musk can be trusted.
My advice to Elon is that there is plenty of room in the social website arena for both his new vision of Twitter and Trump’s new social platform. Don’t be so antagonistic and territorial. Instead, concentrate on differentiating the two services from each other and speak about how Twitter has certain desirable features that Trump’s Truth Social does not. That would be the most mature, businesslike, and professional route to take.

For months I’ve been bombarded by text messages and email asking me whether I will join Trump’s new social platform when it opens. Every single one of them made a donation a condition for my even registering a Yes or No.
And now that it has launched, it is asking me whether I would befriend Trump if he asks me to befriend him. Same paywall barrier to my reply going through.
I’m actively thinking of joining Twitter for the first time ever, now that Musk is in charge. Thanks to the aforementioned behavior, I might do that before joining Trump’s platform.
I have had the same thing happen to me regarding joining Truth Social always ending with giving a donation. I have had it with the money grubers and will no longer allow them to intimidate me into giving money. It is way out of control and I am ready to denounce my association with the Republican Party!

So the issue at hand here is Truth Social had surpassed twitter on the basis of a free app. I have had the same issue with the Trump social constant barrage of friend requests, and would you join? Only to be hit up for a hand out, or donation. Passing Hugely!

I get why Trump wanted to make “Truth Social” but since it doesn’t work on Android phones I can’t use it and I wanted to check it out…..I can’t afford an iPhone, so the Truth social isn’t an option for me. Twitter was never for me, always felt like a private club full of BS.

Although Elon would sure love Trump to come back to Twitter to improve the dynamics of the app, Trump won’t rely or risk censorship on his next presidential run. When he has his own platform he can say what ever he wants whenever he wants. For Trump that could be good or bad, but at least he has complete control of his message. Elon is a bit out of line here, because he wants Trump back to push up profits of Twitter.

Wondering now if I made a mistake.
