The Nation Reacts to FBI Raiding President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Home

Marine One lifts-off after returning President Donald J. Trump to Mar-a-Lago Friday, March 29, 2019, following his visit to the 143-mile Herbert Hoover Dike near Canal Point, Fla., that surrounds Lake Okeechobee. The visit was part of an infrastructure inspection of the dike, which is part of the Kissimmee-Okeechobee Everglades system, and reduces impacts of flooding for areas of south Florida. On Monday, Joe Biden’s Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) raided 45th President Donald J. Trump’s home in a shocking turn of events, which lit a fire under Americans sick of the Democrats’ political witch hunts.

Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) wrote on Twitter following the raid of the President’s home, “The raid of MAL is another escalation in the weaponization of federal agencies against the Regime’s political opponents, while people like Hunter Biden get treated with kid gloves. Now the Regime is getting another 87k IRS agents to wield against its adversaries? Banana Republic.”

Congresswoman Lauren Boebert (R-CO) wrote, “It was President Trump today, but it’s you next if we don’t take a stand.”

Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Green (R-GA) wrote, “I’ve talked a lot about the civil war in the GOP and I lean into it because America needs fearless & effective Republicans to finally put America First. Last night’s tyrannical FBI raid at MAR is unifying us in ways I haven’t seen. In January, we take on the enemy within.”

Trump’s HUD Secretary, Dr. Ben Carson, wrote, “Never in my lifetime did I think I would see an American law enforcement agency be run and weaponized like the FBI this evening. This is a frightening development in our modern political arena. This is the way of Mao and Castro, not Washington and Lincoln.”

The Daily Wire reported about the raid:

The investigation is “focused on material that Trump had brought with him to Mar-a-Lago, his private club and residence, after he left the White House,” The New York Times reported. “Those boxes contained many pages of classified documents.”

Multiple reports later confirmed that the raid was connected to the missing White House records.

The report said that Trump delayed returning more than a dozen boxes of material to the National Archives which included documents that were “marked as classified national security information.” Federal prosecutors opened a grand jury investigation back in May into Trump over whether classified material that ended up at his home in Mar-a-Lago was mishandled.

The main purpose of these types of investigations is usually for federal authorities to determine if any classified material was compromised so that intelligence officials can take steps to protect sensitive sources and methods. Prosecutors are seeking to learn every aspect of how the documents were handled from the time the documents left the White House until they were returned to the National Archives.

Following the raid, the 45th President posted the following video on his social media platform, Truth Social:
