Controversial CNN personality Jeffrey Toobin announced that he is leaving the network after a 20-year career.

The Washington Examiner reports:

Toobin indicated that Friday was his last day on air and encouraged his fans to be on the lookout for his upcoming book about the Oklahoma City bombing, slated for release in 2023.

“Friends, I’ve decided that, after 20 years, I’m leaving @cnn after my vacation. Was great to spend my last day on air with pals Wolf, Anderson and Don. Love all my former colleagues. Watch for my next book, about the Oklahoma City bombing, coming in 2023 from @simonandschuster,” he tweeted.

As a leading legal analyst at the network, Toobin helped inform CNN viewers about some of the hottest legal happenings in the country. He weighed in on everything from the recent overturn of abortion precedents first set in Roe v. Wade, the trial of George Zimmerman, to the impeachment efforts against former President Donald Trump.

His tenure at CNN had been mired in controversy after he was suspended for exposing himself to colleagues at the New Yorker. The incident took place during a Zoom call. He claimed he was unaware the camera was live when it occurred, but he was booted from the magazine nonetheless and was suspended from CNN until his return eight months later in June 2021.
