Washington State Goes Full-Blown Authoritarian

On Wednesday, Washington State Gov. Jay Inslee (D) announced that his state would be following a far-left California policy that will lead to banning the purchase of all gas-powered vehicles by the year 2035.

The Daily Caller reports:

Inslee touted California’s new rule, which was approved on Thursday, and stated that Washington was ready to adopt the rule to prohibit the sale of new gas-powered cars by 2035 at the end of 2022, according to a tweet he posted. The governor also said that his state already set an unenforced goal for all new car sales to be zero emissions vehicles by 2030, a move that would attempt to phase out cars powered by an internal combustion engine.

However, the California rule, which Inslee pledged to adopt, will actively enforce a ban on non-electric vehicles (EVs) by 2035. Washington’s legislature passed a bill in 2020 directing the state Department of Ecology to adopt California’s emission standards, giving Inslee the authority to make such a commitment.

“This is a critical milestone in our climate fight,” Inslee stated. “We look forward to partnering with California and the Biden Administration to quickly eliminate our country’s #1 source of GHG emissions.”

Despite its planned adoption of California’s strict mandates, Washington still intends to meet its 2030 goal for all car sales in the state to consist of zero-emissions vehicles, according to The Seattle Times.

Anna Lising, Inslee’s senior climate adviser, told the paper,“We think of the California regulation as the floor and we’ve set a new ceiling of trying to get that done by 2030.”

  1. In other news, California and Washington also rededicated themselves to ridding their states of normal people by 2035.

  2. I have yet to see a discussion of how much more drain on the electric system all these cars are going to cause. Granted, Washington does benefit from hydroelectric power, but does that now provide 100% of electric needs? With the added use of electric power for vehicles, will the state have to draw upon other resources, like coal and other fossil fuels?

  3. Commufornia And Washingstone are already third world countries and would like to drag the rest of the country down with them. This is America not Venezuela

  4. I wonder if Wash State is willing to strip-mine the State for the rare earth minerals required to make those batteries.

  5. DID CALIF. AND WASHINGTON EVER HAVE NORMAL PEOPLE??I THOUGHT THEY WHERE ALL RACIST AND WOKE AND PEDOS. THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY LEFT TOWN IN THE 1960 OR EVEN BEFORE.NOW THEY ARE ONLY CORRUPT OLD RINOS HANGING ON FOR DEAR LIVE. SELLING US OUT TO CHINA..

    1. Here’s news for you Emma. It’s not the Republicans or even RINOs that are selling the USA out to China. It’s the socialist dems, Biden et al, that are reaping the rewards of aiding China. Time to get a clue.

  6. ”’The #1 cause of GHG emissions is not motor vehicles. It is active volcanoes and forest fires. These governors should take a look at banning them instead. We need fossil fuels qnd have an abundant supply that will last us for hundreds of years.

  7. I hope to be around for 2035 so I can drive my gas car to one of the boders with california be it Orega, Nevada, or Arizona park it, walk across and rent an EV with unlimited mileage and unlimited charges,

  8. Guess there’s gonna be a lot of people walking in the year 2035. Good luck on receiving products that require heavy duty equipment to get the job done. If he thinks he has supply chain problems now, he ain’t seen nothing yet! Liberals are turning out to be intellectually deranged when it come to the whole climate change thingy, passing laws that will backfire and hurt the economy and everyone in the state from the governing seat on down. Huh, that would be trickle down stupidity!

  9. Amnesty International

EV’s are the new slavery. YES, I said slavery. Mining for EV battery materials have replaced Cotton Harvesting in the old South. EV owners are sending a clear signal that they support slavery in Africa & China. The US Federal Government, currently run by the party that supported slavery in the United States, is at it again by demanding EV vehicle purchase by tax incentives and grants. Here is an Amnesty International video that provides more facts. This is one example, there is much more evidence if you look & not drink the Kool Aid.

This film documents the hazardous conditions in which artisanal miners, including thousands of children, mine cobalt in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It goes on to trace how this cobalt is used to power mobile phones, laptop computers, and other portable electronic devices. Using basic hand tools, miners dig out rocks from tunnels deep underground, and accidents are common. Despite the potentially fatal health effects of prolonged exposure to cobalt, adult and child miners work without even the most basic protective equipment.

  10. Its called “mass formation Phsychosis ”
Just do what the crowd tells you , don’t ask questions.
It used to be called , jump off the barn because the crowd did.

  11. Well, Well! First: The Grid System may not be able to take on such Usage! If the system goes down, how is anyone going to cope with this idea? The system could be shut down by an attack from the Chineess, and who is going to be there? Right now, America is headed for a major Downfall and no one will be there to help us. We need to get on our knees and asd GOD to hear our plea’s and forgive us of our Congress! Maybe in November He will !
