On Tuesday, Nicki Haley announced that she would make decisions on announcing a bid for Presidency over the Christmas Holiday during a speaking event at her alma mater, Clemson University. Haley previously served as UN ambassador for the Trump administration though she resigned in 2018. She had said she would not run for president if Trump did, however, Trump is running again. Trump announced he would run a third time earlier last month.
According to The Guardian. Haley said at the Republican Jewish Coalition in Las Vegas last month that,
“A lot of people have asked if I’m going to run for president. Now that the midterms are over, I’ll look at it in a serious way, and I’ll have more to say soon…For now, I’ll say this. I’ve won tough primaries and tough general elections. I’ve been the underdog every single time. When people underestimate me, it’s always fun. But I’ve never lost an election. And I’m not going to start now.”
Though polls have suggested that if Haley wants to remain her record she shouldn’t run in the 2024 elections. As currently, Trump and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis are dominating the polls toward the presidential election.
