Two Hours After Polls Close – Georgia Runoff Remains Too Close To Call

The Georgia Senate Runoff election is still too close to call even two hours after polls in Georgia closed. As polls closed at 7 pm EST, the state has had two hours to count votes yet the race remains close with the candidates Democratic incumbent Senator Raphael Warnock and Republican challenger Herschel Walker neck and neck at 50-49, with Warnock in the lead.

During the state’s early voting period, more than 1.8 million voters had already cast their ballots during the state’s early voting period that concluded Friday, December 2nd. In-person voting even reached a single-day record high Friday, when 392,953 ballots were cast according to the state’s election data.

This race has remained close, which is what triggered the runoff in the first place though tonight, the close race may finally come to an end – a close one at that though.
