Nikki Haley

Nikki Haley, who is currently speculated to run for President in 2024, is a former member of the South Carolina House of Representatives, as well as a diplomat who served as the United States Ambassador to the United Nations from 2017 to 2018. Prior to that, she was the Governor of South Carolina from 2011 to 2017. In 2004, she was elected to the South Carolina House of Representatives, and she served as the state’s Governor from 2011 to 2017.

During her time as Governor, Haley focused on improving the state’s economy, cutting regulations, and reducing the size of government. She also gained national attention for her handling of the Charleston church shooting in 2015, in which she called for the removal of the Confederate flag from the state Capitol grounds. In 2017, President Donald Trump nominated Haley to be the United States Ambassador to the United Nations, and she was confirmed by the Senate in a 96-4 vote. She served in this role until the end of 2018, when she resigned to return to the private sector.
