The U.S. Capitol is reportedly heightening security measures as the reported indictment of President Trump gets closer. This news comes as reports on when the indictment could potentially happen are all over the place. Some say Tuesday, though now it seems like there are sources indicating the indictment might not happen until next week. Without a firm date, there is much left to speculation. Many areas including Manhattan, where the indictment may take place, and the Nation’s Capital are setting up extra security measures for if the time does come.

That statement also said,
“While law enforcement is not tracking any specific, credible threats against Capitol or state offices, there is potential for demonstration activity,” the statement said. “USCP is working with law enforcement partners, so you may observe a greater law enforcement presence on Capitol Hill.”

These heightened security measures may include an increase in police presence on and around Capitol Hill. It might also include road closures and interruptions in bike zones, depending on intensity. USCP has also said that as the situation goes on, they will monitor and alert Senate as necessary.
