In a Hollywood minute, Amanda discusses the Wall Street Journal/NORC poll and its findings. While many are outraged by its findings on patriotism, if this surprises you, you clearly haven’t been paying attention. It is however hard to see in black and white. Every traditional American value has been on the decline, in support, since 1998 – except money. So as far as patriotism goes, in 1998 70% of Americans ranked it as very important however only four years ago in 2019 it was ranked very important by only 61% of Americans. And while that isn’t that terrible for a 20-year span between 2019 and 2023 that 61% vote dropped to a 38% vote in ranking patriotism as very important.  The same has gone for many other American values like religion, faith, and having children. This, sadly, just shows the trajectory of the country.
