In a historic moment, a grand jury in Manhattan has indicted former U.S. President Donald Trump. The Republican front-runner for the 2024 election, has been indicted in relation to an alleged hush-money payment made seven years ago. The specific details of the indictment have not been revealed, but it is believed to be related to a payment that federal regulators said violated no law. Manhattan district attorney, Soros-funded DA Alvin Bragg urged the grand jury to indict Trump. Bragg is known for his refusal to enforce laws against crimes like robbery and rape in New York City. Bragg often lets criminals continue to walk free with extremely short and “progressive” sentencing, and as a result, the city can expect more rapists, murderers, addicts, and criminals overall to flood the once-great city streets.

This politically charged indictment marks the first time a former U.S. president has ever been indicted by a Grand Jury – especially for crimes as minimal as alleged hush money payments. The impact this will have on American politics is uncertain, as many fear this could turn the United States into a Banana Republic, where political outcasts and those who rock the boat are legally charged.

Trump Continues to Dominate in the Polls

Despite the indictment, former President Donald Trump continues to dominate in the polls. According to a Quinnipiac poll, more than six in 10 Americans believe the indictment is motivated by politics, and 72% of Republicans believe Trump has positively impacted the party. In addition, Trump’s supporters threw in $4 million in the first 24 hours alone after news broke of Trump’s indictment. More than $1 million came in the next day. This suggests that despite the legal troubles, Trump still has a significant base of support.

Trump Widens the Gap between Him and DeSantis

In the race for the 2024 Republican nomination, former President Donald Trump has extended his lead against likely rival Gov. Ron DeSantis. According to a recent Yahoo News/YouGov poll, Trump has widened his lead to 26 percentage points. This poll has 57% of Republican and Republican-leaning voters favoring Trump, compared to 31% for DeSantis. This represents a significant shift from two weeks ago when Trump led DeSantis by only 8 percentage points. Trump’s lead has also widened among the larger field of announced and potential 2024 Republican candidates. The poll, conducted last Thursday and Friday, was released on Saturday and surveyed 1,089 adults with a margin of error of +/- 3.3 percentage points.

President Trump’s Indictment: Political Persecution

Former US President Donald Trump has issued a statement in response to his indictment, stating that it is “Political Persecution and Election Interference at the highest level in history.” He also believes that the indictment will backfire on Joe Biden, and that the American people can see what the Radical Left Democrats are doing. Trump’s lawyer, Alina Habba, also believes that Trump is a victim of a corrupt version of the American justice system and history, and that he will be vindicated.

The Weaponization of the Justice System

The indictment of former President Trump has led many to question the weaponization of the justice system for political purposes. Trump’s indictment marks a historic moment, as no former U.S. president has ever been indicted before. While the sentiment of a former U.S. President going to court and actually being tried for crimes is a nice sentiment – as a society, we’ve left that behind a long time ago. If Trump is tried and convicted, there is no indication whatsoever that the Clintons, Fauci, and Hunter Biden along with multiple others are somehow next in line. Deep-state Democrats are fully immune to legal consequences, no matter how serious of crimes they’re accused of committing, leaving only Trump unprotected.
