During a speech at the Faith & Freedom Coalition’s Road to a Majority Conference in Washington, DC, former President Donald Trump shared his comprehensive plans regarding the southern border and immigration policies. Trump aimed to address various issues by proposing significant changes and reinstating successful measures from his previous term.

One of the key aspects Trump discussed was ending the granting of automatic citizenship to the children of individuals residing in the country illegally, as he said:

“I’ve already announced that I will sign on day one an executive order ending automatic citizenship for the children of illegal aliens. You have to do it. We’re the only country in the world that does it.”

He expressed his intention to sign an executive order on his first day in office to terminate this practice. Trump also highlighted his plan to revive effective border policies implemented during his previous term, which included policies such as Remain in Mexico, Safe Third Agreement, and asylum bans. The construction of the southern border wall was emphasized as an ongoing project that would continue.

Additionally, Trump aimed to reinstate the prosecution policy that resulted in an increase in the number of illegal alien prosecutions and subsequent deportations. He emphasized the importance of addressing the child trafficking crisis by promptly returning trafficked children to their families in their home countries.

Trump also emphasized the significance of legal immigration and expressed his plans to reinstate the expired public health authority, Title 42, which had been discontinued under the Biden administration. He stressed the need for rapid deportation of individuals crossing the border, especially those carrying contagious diseases.

Trump proposed redirecting resources from federal law enforcement agencies like the DEA, ATF, FBI, and Homeland Security investigators to prioritize immigration enforcement. He believed protecting American sovereignty required using all available resources to address what he called an “unprecedented invasion.” He also planned to deploy thousands of troops to the border.
