SiriusXM host Howard Stern told Vice President Kamala Harris on Tuesday what worries him about the chances of former President Donald Trump winning the November election.

Harris has launched a friendly media blitz, appearing for interviews on “The View” and “The Howard Stern Show” Tuesday. Stern expressed anxiety to Harris about Trump winning, stating his belief that Trump would cause “chaos overseas,” particularly by not backing Ukraine in its war against Russia.

“This is what keeps me up [at] night. I don’t understand how my fellow Americans — I don’t even understand how this election is close,” Stern said. “And yes, I’m voting for you, but I would also vote for that wall over there rather than … a guy who says he doesn’t support Ukraine … Why do my fellow Americans want this kind of chaos overseas? Why?”

Trump and Harris are locked in a close race across the top seven battleground states, according to the RealClearPolling averages. Journalist Mark Halperin said Tuesday that Harris is on a dismal trajectory to win these states based on the latest private polling he has seen and the fact that both Democrats and Trump affiliates he’s spoken to agree that the former president is improving his position.

CNN senior data reporter Harry Enten noted Tuesday that if Trump outperforms his 2024 polling by the identical margin he did against President Joe Biden in 2020, he will win enough swing-states to defeat Harris by a substantial margin.

“Let’s say we have a polling miss like we had in 2020,” Enten said. “What happens then? Well, then Donald Trump wins the election in a blowout with 312 electoral votes because he carries all these Great Lake battleground states plus Nevada, plus the other states he was leading in — Arizona, North Carolina and Georgia.”

During a Monday interview with CBS News’ “60 Minutes,” Harris deferred on whether she backs Ukraine entering the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), claiming she would address the issue at a later time. Her campaign spokesman Ian Sams on Tuesday also did not confirm whether Harris supports Ukraine’s NATO membership or indicate when she would detail her stance.

The Russia-Ukraine war has lasted over two years, and the Biden-Harris administration has spent more than $175 billion in aid to Ukraine. President Joe Biden told CNN in July that Ukraine entering NATO would be premature.

Stern began his interview with Harris by asking if she doesn’t like talking about herself, with the vice president asserting she was raised with the belief that it is “immodest” to talk about oneself.
