President Trump fired a shot at MSNBC host Joe Scarborough as he called for the owners of MSNBC to investigate the accidental death of one of Scarborough’s interns.
The President tweeted:
“Concast” should open up a long overdue Florida Cold Case against Psycho Joe Scarborough. I know him and Crazy Mika well, used them beautifully in the last Election, dumped them nicely, and will state on the record that he is “nuts”. Besides, bad ratings! #OPENJOECOLDCASE
“Concast” refers to Comcast which owns NBCUniversal News Group.
In 2001, a 28-year old congressional aide for then-Congressman Scarborough named Lori Klausutis was found dead in his congressional office.
Authorities determined she lost consciousness and fatally struck her head on a desk. The medical examiner determined it was an accidental death.
This is not the first time Trump has mentioned the incident.
In 2017, Trump also encouraged an investigation into the incident:
So now that Matt Lauer is gone when will the Fake News practitioners at NBC be terminating the contract of Phil Griffin? And will they terminate low ratings Joe Scarborough based on the “unsolved mystery” that took place in Florida years ago? Investigate!

Trump and the “Morning Joe” tandem of Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinksi have a long history.
During Trump’s 2016 campaign, they had a friendly relationship and Trump appeared numerous times on “Morning Joe” which has since soured.
Joe and Mika have taken several swipes at the President and Trump has never been shy about swiping back, including calling Mika a “psycho” and mocking the dwindling ratings of their program.
