Former Massachusetts GOP Governor Bill Weld, who challenged Trump in the 2020 primary for President is endorsing Joe Biden for President.

Some of you might be saying “who the heck is that” and no one would blame you.

Weld, who vacated his last elected office in 1997, picked up barely over 2% of the votes against Trump in the GOP primary this cycle.

His entire return to politics has been a futile experiment.

In 2016, he was the Libertarian Vice Presidential nominee.

While serving as former New Mexico Governor Gary Johnson’s running mate he left supporters scratching their heads head when he all but endorsed Hillary Clinton over his own running mate.

Weld said he was “not sure anybody is more qualified than Hillary Clinton to be president of the United States.”

Now, in a meaningless endorsement of Joe Biden, he joins almost 100 former Republicans who are endorsing Joe Biden through an initiative called “Republicans & Independents for Biden” which is spearheaded by former New Jersey Governor Christine Todd Whitman (R).

The group is being funded by The Lincoln Project.

A few other former GOP elected officials known for their moderate positions also endorsed Biden recently. They include former Michigan Governor Rick Snyder, former GOP Congressmen Charlie Dent (PA), Joe Schwarz (MI), and David Trott (MI).
