CNN Tried to Fact Check Tucker Carlson: It Didn’t Go Well

When Fox News host Tucker Carlson discussed the secret recordings taken of CNN’s editorial meeting by Project Veritas founder James O’Keefe the network was not happy. In a recording, O’Keefe identifies an individual calling Carlson a racist as CNN’s vice president of global programming, Marcus Mabry a fact that CNN later corrects.

The man in the recording can be heard saying, “if you’re going to talk about the story. I think it’s unavoidable you have to talk about the naked racism of Tucker Carlson. Because that’s what really drove this anti-diversity push, you know, Trump watches Tucker Carlson’s show and then reacts. And just sort of the “white supremacy hour” they have on Fox News every night. You can’t disconnect the two.”

CNN quickly replied to the tweet saying that O’Keefe and Carlson misidentified the voice which actually belongs to CNN general counsel David Vigilante.

The Fox News host fired back at CNN’s assertion that he misidentified the voice clearly saying the claim is a lie.

Townhall reports:

The CNN PR account also has threatened legal action against O’Keefe. The account tweeted, “Legal experts say this may be a felony. We‘ve referred it to law enforcement.”

O’Keefe told Fox News host Sean Hannity on Tuesday that his takeaway from the morning calls he recorded is that CNN is not a news network – it is “propaganda.”

“This is something that doesn’t shock people but confirms a lot of suspicions. To see the president of a media conglomerate barking orders at his reporters and journalists, telling them what to cover, what not to cover, that’s not anything resembling journalism I know,” O’Keefe said.
