Full chaos has erupted on Capitol Hill as protestors have stormed the Capitol building. A joint session of Congress to certify the Electoral College results was forced into a recess and Vice President Pence was evacuated as violence erupted. The Capitol is on full lockdown and the surrounding office buildings have been told to shelter in place.

Early reports have indicated that gunshots were fired within the Capitol.

President Trump urged protestors to remain peaceful and avoid confrontation with Capitol Police. However, it seems the crowds have shown no signs of slowing down.

Protestors stormed the Capitol building and outnumbered law enforcement to gain access to the building by ripping down barricades and breaking heavily fortified security glass.

The video below shows protestors beating down doors to the Capitol.

DC’s Mayor Bowser has implemented a 6 pm emergency curfew for the city.

So far the National Guard has not arrived in DC to help tame the crowds and secure the Capitol. Both chambers have been evacuated and representatives will be transported to an unknown alternate location to ensure their safety.
