Florida Republicans are excited and energized now that the former President has relocated to the Sunshine State even affectionately dubbing Trump their “hometown” president. Since moving to Florida last week, Trump has already gotten to work to help the Republican Party. Trump established an official post-presidency office and met with House Republican Leader McCarthy to discuss how Trump will play a key role in helping Republicans win back the House next year. Christian Ziegler, vice chairman of the Republican Party of Florida, is eager to help Trump in any way whether it’s speeches or events in the state.

Fox News reports:

“When he wants to have an event, we would build an event around him,” Christian Ziegler, vice chairman of the Republican Party of Florida, told the Orlando Sentinel. “If he wants to make any visits around the state, we will facilitate. It is his party.”

He added: “He is our hometown president.”

Meanwhile, Palm Beach County Republican Party Chairman Michael Barnett told the Sentinel that hundreds of Republican Party members are expected to attend the Palm Beach County GOP’s annual Lincoln Day Dinner at Mar-a-Lago in April. Barnett told the Sentinel he hopes Trump will attend.

“If he is available, I hope he comes down from the residence, says hi and speaks a little bit,” Barnett told The Sentinel.

The show of strong support right out of the gate indicates the Republican Party is ready for a fierce fight to take back the House in 2022. President Trump plans to help all Republican candidates, even those who challenged him in the past.
