On Wednesday, Nancy Pelosi announced the House will move forward and create a select panel to investigate the events surrounding the January 6 Capitol riot. Despite the legislation to create a commission that was previously shot down by the Senate last month the House still intends to move forward. Today, Pelosi announced which Democrats and Republicans she selected to lead the panel in its investigation.
House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy will be able to fill five other spots on the panel if he so chooses but has yet to reveal any candidates.
