The United States is set to announce a new alliance with Australia and the United Kingdom that will focus on sharing advanced technologies in an effort to combat Chinese aggression.

The Daily Wire reports:

“The trio, which will be known by the acronym AUUKUS, will make it easier for the nations to share information and know-how in key technological areas like artificial intelligence, cyber, underwater systems and long-range strike capabilities,” Politico reported. “One of the people said there will be a nuclear element to the pact in which the U.S. and U.K. share their knowledge of how to maintain nuclear-defense infrastructure.”

The report said that while China is not explicitly mentioned in the new deal, the announcement is expected to send a message to Beijing that the West intends to push back against Chinese aggression.

The move comes as the Biden administration has widely been criticized for being weak on the world stage, including lifting sanctions that allowed Russia to finish their Nord Stream 2 pipeline, which former President Donald Trump aggressively tried to block, and his disastrous pullout from Afghanistan, which resulted in the deaths of 13 U.S. troops and hundreds of Americans being left behind.

Recently former Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe slammed the Biden administration repeated mishandling of foreign issues and called Biden the “biggest national security threat facing the U.S.”

“And the reason I say that, and I’m not trying to be glib or hyperbolic … they have literally gotten everything wrong for eight straight months,” Ratcliffe continued. “With respect to China, with respect to Russia, with respect to Iran, with respect throughout the Middle East, now, including Afghanistan, it goes on and on, literally, they’re batting zero. They’re striking out at every turn. And it’s having a profound grave impact on our national security and our national security posture.”
