BREAKING: Ronna McDaniel Wins Fourth Term as RNC Chair

Ronna McDaniel has won reelection to be chair of the Republican National Committee in a vote that took place at the committees winter meeting in Dana Point, California. This will be her fourth term but the lead up this election was full of attacks Republicans who called for change in leadership of the RNC, including Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. Of the 167 votes cast, Lee Zeldin received one vote, Mike Lindell received 4, Harmeet Dhillon received 51, and McDaniel received 111. Dhillon had been the alternate candidate to McDaniel in the lead up and many say she would have represented the grassroots operations better.

“With all of us united, the Democrats are going to hear from us in 2024,” said McDaniel onstage after her victory. “We need all of us. We heard you grassroots. We know. We heard Harmeet, we heard Mike Lindell, but with us united and all of us going together, the Democrats are going to hear us in 2024 when we take back the White House and the Senate,” she continued.

Many have called McDaniel a serial loser and Dhillon ran an insurgent campaign stressing that change was needed following the Republican Party’s lackluster performance in the 2022 midterms. The job of politics is elections, and it’s a binary choice. If we win, they lose and vice versa. And we’ve had too much losing over the last few years,” Dhillon told Fox News. Donald Trump, the only Republican candidate to have announced 2024 presidential bid, has remained neutral, saying he liked both McDaniel and Dhillon.
