However, Trump will not be appearing before a judge in New York until the following week, according to a source familiar with the proceedings.
Reports indicate that the Manhattan District Attorney’s office is preparing to issue an indictment against Trump. The potential charges stem from allegations that Trump’s former lawyer Michael Cohen sent $130,000 to Daniels to prevent her from disclosing her 2006 affair with Trump, which Trump allegedly reimbursed through installments. Trump denies any wrongdoing and has labeled the investigation as corrupt and highly political. However, the truth of the matter has yet to be proven.
Trump is expected to be formally charged tomorrow in connection with the hush money payments made to Stormy Daniels, according to a report. Both Trump and Stephanie Clifford, also known as “Stormy Daniels,” came out and announced the alleged affair never took place, as the New York Post reported in 2018, however, many still repeat the story.
The former president, who is currently residing in Florida, is expected to surrender after the Manhattan District Attorney’s office contacts him and his Secret Service detail. In anticipation of the arrest, a large number of officers from the New York Police Department and Metro Police Department have been stationed outside the courthouse. Officials in New York City and Washington, DC are reportedly preparing for possible unrest and demonstrations following Trump’s call for his supporters to “protest, protest, protest” in response to the potential indictment.
The allegations against Trump stem from payments made to Daniels in 2016 to prevent her from publicly sharing her story of an alleged affair with Trump in 2006.
