AOC Shares Sarcastic Video Celebrating Tucker Carlson’s Firing
U.S. House Representative Alexandria Ocasio Cortez (D-NY) took to her Facebook story to share a video gloating over the recent firing of former Fox News host Tucker Carlson. This came after AOC called for Carlson to be “punished” before his dismissal. In the video, AOC sarcastically implies that Carlson is a movie villain and expresses her pleasure that he won’t be returning to the news network.
AOC also claims that “deplatforming works” and is “important,” despite claiming not to support censorship, saying:
“Tucker Carlson is out at Fox News, it couldn’t have happened to a better guy”, she says sarcastically. She continued, “um, what I will say though is, while I’m very glad that person who is arguably responsible for some of the largest some of the most driving amount of death threats and violent threats, not just to my office but to plenty of people across the country, um I also kind of feel like I’m like waiting for the cut scene at the end of a marvel movie where the credit’s have rolled and then you see like the villain’s hand reemerge out to grip over like the building or something, but deplatforming works and it is important and there you go, um, good things can happen.”

More Firings Coming At Fox?
While there are many possible reasons for Carlson’s firing, one contributing factor may be the Dominion lawsuit that has taken the wind out of Fox News’ sails. It is possible that Fox News may be firing more people and cutting their budget significantly, in addition to other reasons why bosses were potentially unhappy with Carlson. Despite many people not agreeing with Carlson’s politics, some have suggested that his firing was mostly about money.
Over the last week, Fox News has dismissed several high-profile names, including Dan Bongino, Maria Bartiromo, Judge Jeanine Pirro, and Tucker Carlson as of yesterday. It remains uncertain whether more significant figures will be joining them on the list of departures. This has raised questions as to whether Fox News can maintain its position as the most-watched cable news channel, which it has held for over 20 consecutive months.
Liberals Rejoice Over Carlson’s Departure
Many liberals, such as AOC, left-wing actor and “comedian” Michael Rapaport, as well as a host of others, have celebrated Carlson’s departure from Fox News. However, some have argued that this isn’t about “being held accountable” but rather about basking in the man’s bad news. Regardless of the possible political motives behind his firing, it is clear that Carlson’s departure has caused a stir in the political world, and many right-wing Americans may be looking to field news alternatives to Fox News moving forward.
