Former President Donald J. Trump may face potential charges for his alleged involvement in attempting to change the outcome of the 2020 presidential election, according to Georgia Attorney General Fani Willis. This news follows Trump’s indictment in New York over alleged hush money payments to Stormy Daniels. The specific charges Trump will face in Georgia are yet to be disclosed and are anticipated to be revealed during the summer. The charges are expected to be linked to Trump’s statement during a phone call with Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger to “find 11,780 votes.” However, many argue that the context of the now-infamous quote may be taken out of context.

According to WLT Report:

Willis claims that the former President attempted to unduly influence the 2020 Presidential election via a now infamous phone call he had with Georgia Secretary of State, Brad Raffensperger.

Additionally, she claims that allies of the President were also involved in unspecified attempts to influence the election on President Trump’s behalf.

What wasn’t obvious was whether or not an indictment or charges would materialize from her nebulous investigation into President Trump.

Conservative Brief shared one legal expert’s opinion on the recent letter and Willis’ next potential moves:

Wittes suggested a trio of possible reasons for the charging delay, first arguing that there may be no actual delay: “She’s working on implementing it, and that just takes some time.”

“Here’s some other things we know. We know that just as the special grand jury was finishing its work in December, the January 6th committee dumped 250 depositions into the public domain.

The ongoing witch hunt against former President Donald Trump remains uncertain. Drew Findling, Trump’s attorney, has requested that a Georgia state court prohibit Fani Willis, the Atlanta-area district attorney, from pressing charges against Trump for his alleged attempts to alter the 2020 presidential election results. Findling argued that the process was flawed due to issues with the special grand jury and urged the court to dismiss the report and recommendations as “fruit of the poisonous tree.”
