Trump further asserted that he would never engage in any inappropriate behavior, or, in Trump’s words, “hanky panky,” dismissing the notion of entering a department store dressing room for any sort of intimate encounter with a woman he had just met.

In response to Carroll’s claims, Trump issued a statement asserting his innocence and questioning her credibility. He reiterated that he had never met Carroll or engaged in the alleged misconduct, highlighting his denial of the accusations when they first surfaced. Trump characterized the case as part of a broader Democratic agenda to besmirch his character, comparing it to previous controversies that he believed were baseless and politically motivated. He also expressed frustration with the judge’s handling of the proceedings and criticized the perceived bias in the trial, saying:

Mr. Trump continues to fight the jury’s decision. After the verdict, his lawyer Joseph Tacopina filed a notice of appeal.
