Mueller Resigns From DOJ

Robert Mueller has formally resigned from the Department of Justice. Mueller stated that he has completed his duty to investigate interference and will formally close the office of the special counsel.

Robert Mueller announced this during a surprise press conference on Wednesday.

A determination was made that there was insufficient evidence to show collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russians.

Mueller will not testify in front of Congress.

Muller has announced that the report he released speaks for itself. He also stated he will not comment on any indictments.

The special counsel did state that if the conclusion was the president did not commit a crime, he would have said that in the report. He went on to state that they decided not to make a determination on whether the president committed a crime due to an indictment of him being unconstitutional. This was essentially laid out in the report presented to Congress.

However, with this rationale, Mueller would not have been able to indict or present chargeable offenses to the AG if he had found collusion. Meaning this investigation was meaningless.

Mueller did say that they did investigate the possible crimes because it would be allowable to charge anyone who was involved with a criminal conspiracy other than the president.
