Rachel Maddow’s Ratings Plummet as Fox News Shines

MSNBC personality Rachel Maddow saw her rating rise as the Mueller saga played out. Viewers seemed to love her fearmongering on the investigation.

Now that the investigation is over Maddow’s ratings have plummeted as fellow personalities on Fox News have seen their ratings rise.

According to The Daily Caller:

Fox News had the four highest rated cable news programs for the month of July, while MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow continued to see her ratings stagnate.

“The Rachel Maddow Show” fell to fifth it total viewers this month, behind Fox News’ “Hannity,” “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” “The Ingraham Angle,” and “The Five,” according to Nielsen Media Research.

Maddow averaged 2,487,000 per night this month, a slight improvement from the month of June in which she averaged 2,450,000. However, Maddow fell from third to fifth as all of Fox News’ cable programs saw their ratings grow at a higher rate. It was the first time since October 2018 that Maddow’s show fell out of the top three.

Maddow also fell to fifth in the crucial 25-54 age demographics, averaging 384,000 viewers. Hannity and Carlson also finished first and second in that category, averaging 527,000 and 519,000 viewers respectively.

Before the Mueller report was released Maddow was one of the champions of the Russian collusion narrative but was unable to keep up her momentum after her narrative was proven to be false.
