Trump Admin Staffer Tests Positive for Covid-19

A top-level Trump administration Katie Miller has tested positive for Covid-19.

Miller is a spokesperson for Vice President Mike Pence and wife of Trump Advisor Stephen Miller.

According to Politico, Miller’s diagnosis may signal others in the West Wing are at risk:
Miller’s positive diagnosis for Covid-19 puts the potential threat of the infection squarely into the president’s inner circle. Miller serves as the vice president’s top spokesperson, traveling with him frequently and attending meetings by his side. She is also married to another top White House aide and senior adviser, Stephen Miller, who writes the majority of Trump’s speeches and spends copious amounts of time around the president, Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump.

Katie Miller’s positive diagnosis raises the risk that, through both her and her husband’s daily work, a large swath of the West Wing’s senior aides may also have been exposed to the novel coronavirus.

Trump said he hasn’t been in contact with Mrs. Miller but that Vice President Pence has been in close quarters with her.

Trump also told reporters, “[Katie] is a wonderful young woman. She tested very good for a long period of time. And all of a sudden today she tested positive.”

“She tested positive out of the blue. This is why the whole concept of tests aren’t necessarily, right, the tests are perfect but something can happen between a test where it’s good and then something happens,” Trump continued.

Miller also tested negative recently, according to Trump.
