The pressure to be tested began to mount after President Trump and members of his staff had interactions with members of the Brazilian presidential delegation who tested positive.
President Trump said in a press conference on Saturday that he has taken a coronavirus test, adding that he is awaiting the results.
“I had my temperature taken coming into the room … I also took the test last night. And I decided I should based on the press conference last night,” Trump said.
The president said the test was sent to a lab and he doesn’t know when he will get the results back.
The move was a change from what White House physician Dr. Sean Conley said in a memo released late Friday, that Trump will not be tested for coronavirus, nor will he self-quarantine.
