Trump Slams Cuomo Tells NRA to Leave New York

President Trump has called out New York Governor Andrew Cuomo for his attacks on the NRA and has even suggested that the NRA leave New York altogether.

According to Town Hall:

Shortly after his trip to Indianapolis to address the National Rifle Association Annual Meeting, President Trump is accusing the New York governor of placing the gun rights group under siege.

Trump’s declaration comes a few days after New York Attorney General Letitia James opened an investigation into the NRA.

Cuomo has worked the past several years to cement New York as one of the most anti-gun states in the nation, thanks to legislation like the SAFE Act. This past February, he signed off on another controversial bill, the Red Flag law, which mandates that family members, school administrators, etc. can request someone be stripped of their firearms if they consider them a threat. To many gun owners, the law is tantamount to a lack of due process.

At last week’s NRA summit, Trump pledged to protect Americans’ Second Amendment rights. The most popular part of his speech was when he announced he’d be requesting the Senate end the ratification process for the UN arms treaty, which Trump said would infringe on gun owners’ freedoms.

President Trump also called on the NRA to leave the state of New York. President Trump has upped his support for the Second Amendment recently, promising to pull out of a treaty with the U.N. that gave the organization some control over gun owners in the U.S.
