Trump Unveils Flag for US Space Force

 

Today, President Trump revealed the official Flag of the United States Space Force in the Oval Office (pictured above) along with other military leaders during a Space Force Day proclamation ceremony.

Defense Secretary Mark Esper presented the flag to President Trump, which was produced in Philadelphia by the Defense Logistic Agency.

In 2018, President Trump ordered the Defense Department to establish the Space Force as a new branch of the United States Military.

“Our destiny, beyond the Earth, is not only a matter of national identity but a matter of national security,” said President Trump when directing the Defense Dept. to establish Space Force.
 


Since then over 16,000 servicemembers have been assigned to the Space Force which is being led by General John W. Raymond of the Air Force.
Space Force’s mission:

The USSF is a military service that organizes, trains, and equips space forces in order to protect U.S. and allied interests in space and to provide space capabilities to the joint force. USSF responsibilities include developing military space professionals, acquiring military space systems, maturing the military doctrine for space power, and organizing space forces to present to our Combatant Commands.
