Fox News Axes Trump Supporters

Fox News has terminated its ties with unofficial Trump Advisors Diamond and Silk.

The dynamic duo of former Democrats Lynette Hardaway (Diamond) and Rochelle Richardson (Silk) became MAGA-stars during the 2016 election after their videos in support of candidate Trump went viral.

During the 2016 election, they appeared on the campaign trail with Trump several times and received a payment from the campaign for “Field Consulting”.

After the election, they were hired by Fox News to create weekly episodes for its digital streaming service “Fox Nation”.

According to Variety, they have not produced an episode since early April:

The two had been creating weekly episodes for a Fox Nation streaming program, but have not done so since early April. In recent weeks, the pair took to social media and the Fox Nation program with remarks that questioned the spread of the coronavirus pandemic and whether the number of people reported to have died from the disease were inflated to undermine President Trump.

“What I need to know is how many people have passed away in New York, and what I need to know is: Who has the bodies?” Diamond asked during a recent streaming show. “Something’s not right here. Something is off here.” A day later, Twitter deleted a tweet from the duo suggesting Americans leave sheltering at home and expose themselves to coronavirus.

The Daily Beast reported of the split between Fox and Diamond & Silk:

Fox News has cut ties with MAGA vlogging superstars Diamond & Silk, who had contributed original content to the network’s streaming service Fox Nation since shortly after its late 2018 launch.

The sudden split comes after the Trump-boosting siblings have come under fire for promoting conspiracy theories and disinformation about the coronavirus. “After what they’ve said and tweeted you won’t be seeing them on Fox Nation or Fox News anytime soon,” a source with knowledge of the matter told The Daily Beast.

Diamond and Silk haven’t addressed the news or responded to media inquiries. However, it seems they are now hosting their show on a website called ChatDit.com, per their Twitter.
