Which of our military leaders are onboard with Erik Prince’s plan?
Other than Commander in Chief?

I don’t like the new format. By the lack of comment volume, I do not think I am alone.

I have no problem with this plan, but anyone engaging in this work would have to do so at their own risk. This means that the US can’t be negotiating for hostages constantly if operators are being kidnapped. This would have to be on the companies to be responsible for their safety.

The US government has the obligation to protect its citizens.
That is why we have our embassies and military throughout the world.

Street smarts would have to be employed to end this mess.
Do we have enough Afghans who want to be free from the Taliban?
If not, we will never win. Blow the place up and run. Send Saudi troops to patrol. Period.
Otherwise:
Have tribal leaders report target-rich areas and do these first.
Use air power and satellite imaging to decimate supply sources and routes.
Keep wiping out all unfriendly troop movements large and small – 24/7/365.
Ask General Stanley McChrystal for inspired hints.

Do it until our ground troops (kept in a secure location) get tired of watching the carnage,
become non-essential, and are cleared to go on R&R. Celebrate free Afghanistan.

We have enough Afghans who want to be free of foreign dominance.
It was the Taliban, our former allies, who freed the Afghans from Russian dominance.

Define winning in Afghanistan.
All Afghans dead?

The run part I get, like we did in Vietnam, did we make a mistake in not blowing up Vietnam before we ran?

Which tribal leaders can we trust, which ones will go with the Taliban?

We have been using air power and satellite imaging to decimate supply sources and routes for decades, how is it working out?

We have been wiping out all unfriendly troop movements large and small – 24/7/365 for two decades now, how is it working out?

General Stanley McChrystal Has been out of uniform for over 10 years. Out of uniform and over the hill.

“Do it until our ground troops (kept in a secure location) get tired of watching the carnage,”
The only secure location for our troops is stateside, where they are still subject to death by Muzzie terrorists, often Saudis.

American troops never tire of watching the carnage of their own making.

Once our troops go on R+R who will keep Afghanistan free?
Putin?

Being an armchair warrior is such fun.
