Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has announced that she is being treated for liver cancer, but she continues to work.

According to CNBC:

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg said in a statement on Friday that she is being treated for liver cancer but that she remains able to work “full steam.”

The 87-year-old said that she began a course of chemotherapy in May to treat a recurrence of cancer after a February scan revealed lesions on her liver.

“Immunotherapy first essayed proved unsuccessful. The chemotherapy course, however, is yielding positive results. Satisfied that my treatment course is now clear, I am providing this information,” Ginsburg said in the statement.

Ginsburg, a liberal, is the court’s eldest justice. Her health has become the subject of public concern because a vacancy on the nine-judge panel could allow President Donald Trump to nominate a conservative replacement. The court currently has a 5-4 majority of Republican-appointed justices.

Ginsburg’s full statement:

“On May 19, I began a course of chemotherapy (gemcitabine) to treat a recurrence of cancer. A periodic scan in February followed by a biopsy revealed lesions on my liver. My recent hospitalizations to remove gall stones and treat an infection were unrelated to this recurrence.

Immunotherapy first essayed proved unsuccessful. The chemotherapy course, however, is yielding positive results. Satisfied that my treatment course is now clear, I am providing this information.

My most recent scan on July 7 indicated significant reduction of the liver lesions and no new disease. I am tolerating chemotherapy well and am encouraged by the success of my current treatment. I will continue bi-weekly chemotherapy to keep my cancer at bay, and am able to maintain an active daily routine. Throughout, I have kept up with opinion writing and all other Court work.

I have often said I would remain a member of the Court as long as I can do the job full steam. I remain fully able to do that.”

It was recently reported that Ginsburg was hospitalized for an infection. She was released shortly after being admitted.

    1. No way! She sure IS trying to out-wait Trump, though! Poor useful idiot for the Globalists, she is.

  1. SHe should be put out, she is not in a right state of mind to serve anymore. She is not working full steam.

    1. RBG hasn’t been physically or mentally able to work at full capacity in many years! I am sure she wishes she had retired while BHO was President. She only remains to spite DJT and has TDS like the rest of the Dems! There is no way she ever has a day when she feels well! I have never seen a living person as thin and sickly looking as the poor little thing is! She is literally skin stretched over a skeleton and it is difficult to look at her! I have expected for years to see a news alert stating she died in her SCOTUS office while working!

    2. I agree fully. Her situation is a damage to America, she is incapable of doing her job, has been for years already. She is just motivated to TRY to hang on long enough to have us collapse. I am sure that the whole COVID BS has been pushed alongh so hard because all of the Globalists (and the Democrat minions)KNOW that their jig is up — time for Trump to set the Marines loose to do their job!

    1. She is known to FALL ASLEEP during court sessions, she’s nearing 90 years of age–how can someone like this be tolerated to stay at this job??

  2. She hasn’t been in her right mind for years. There should be limits on how long all these lifer politician’s are able to serve just like there is for POTUS. I know someone out there is saying that she is not a politician she is a judge. If you really believe that she makes all her judgements without any political bias you are as dumb as a rock. Time for her to move on and keep her mouth shut.

  3. We need an age limit on the Supreme court and Congress, either that or term limits. Ginsburg, Feinstein, Pelosi are all too old to be making decisions that impact our lives. The actions they take can mean life or death for men, women, and children in the United States of America. We, as the American people, need to decide if we want people over the age of 80 making those type of decisions. We see our American values going down the toilet because too many older politicians and judges are still in power. Ginsburg, Feinstein, and Pelosi need to retire or be retired, simple as that. Pelosi and Feinstein have become obstructionists along with Waters and other older Democratic political leaders. We don’t need unwise and thoughtless “young pups” like AOC (and her squad) but we also do not need “old foggies” like Ginsburg, Feinstein, Waters, and Pelosi making decisions that greatly impact America. Dems, the true honest hard working loyal American type Dems, is this truly what you want? Some of your political leaders are far too old to make decisions that help or hurt us (and “hurt us” seems to be the standard). They have foolishly embraced socialism and other concepts that will harm us, as Americans. Money and power has become an important issue for these “long term” career politicians, not the wants and needs of the American people. Walk away, this is your chance. Take away the power your vote gives these foolish obstructionists. I was a very dedicated and “tunnel vision” Democrat at one time but I walked away. You can “walk away” too, it just starts with a single step in the “right” direction. Others have done it – you can too! Check out the walk away website:, if you want (or care) to learn more!

  4. It would be news if she wasn’t being treated for cancer, it seems like she is constantly being treated for some kind of cancer.

For those that politicize the judiciary and believe in karma, what better way to illustrate this spiritual principle than to have her seat replaced by a constitutional conservative, to even the injustice of not following the job description of interpreting the Constitution.

  5. I am a political conservative, so I seldom like Justice Ginsberg’s rulings. I would love for her to be replaced by a Trump appointee. She is intellectually honest to a great extent, so things could be worse. That said, I am also undergoing chemotherapy, so I can empathize with her plight. As one human being to another, Justice Ginsberg, stay strong, stay positive, and know that millions of us from both sides of the political spectrum are praying for and otherwise emotionally supporting you.

  6. She’s playing a game with the American people. Funny — still work “full steam” — the last time I saw her she was sound asleep at the bench — she sure was flat out full steam ahead, snoring that is. WE need to insert term limits for every office within our government — enough of this “career of corruption & payoffs” and taking up space into your late eighties and ninties. If 2 terms is good for our President then 2 terms should be good for everyone.

  7. It is not a SHOCKING announcement . How many times has she had cancer ? The old selfish woman does not know when to enjoy the last leg of life. What the hell is she trying to prove. Does she not have family she can go frustrate?

  8. This lady must have a death wish or such animus for President Trump that she’s determined to outlive his term. My bet is on him. I wouldn’t wish cancer on any living soul, I now have terminal cancer it is no picnic, not even close.,.From the treatments to the after affects. Unfortunately, all the junk I’ve gone through and still, no luck for me.
I’m not asking for sympathy, I just want to die with some dignity and do so at home. No hospitals or facilities for me, not as long as I can swing the pain, which is great for me but thankfully, i have great hospice nurses that attend to every need i’ve had and addresses the overwhelming pain i have had to content with.
