President Trump indicated that the teenage gunman responsible for the deaths of two Kenosha protesters and injuring one more was acting in self-defense at the time.

At a White House press briefing, Trump said Kyle Rittenhouse, a 17-year-old from Illinois, “probably would have been killed,” according to his claim that he was attacked by protesters.

‘He was trying to get away from them I guess, it looks like, and he fell on then they very violently attacked him,” the President said.

Rittenhouse faces first-degree murder charges amongst several others, his legal team wants them dropped, claiming the shooting was self-defense. The defense claims that the teenager was protecting and providing first aid at a local mechanic shop when demonstrators chased him down. When one of them lunged at him, he discharged his weapon.

He fled from a mob and fell when he was struck. His attackers kicked and beat him with a skateboard, one of them carried a gun. When they tried to disarm them, he fired shots, striking two of them.

“I guess he was in very big trouble. He probably would’ve been killed.” The President remarked, pointing out, “It’s under investigation.”

Trump highlighted that the civil unrest is happening in Democratic cities, “The violence is fueled by the rhetoric of far-left politicians,” and called out their Presidential nominee. “The rioters and Joe Biden have a side, and they’re both on the side of the radical left.”

Biden called Trump “weak” for failing to “rebuke violence,” claiming the President is “too scared of the hatred he has stirred to put an end to it.”

Wisconsin Democratic Governor Tony Evers called for Trump to cancel his Tuesday visit to Kenosha so his presence wouldn’t “hinder the healing.” The President said he’s going.

“I am a tremendous fan of law enforcement,” he told Laura Ingraham. “I want to thank the law enforcement. They’ve done a good job.”
