Ronald Klain has been selected as Joe Biden’s first cabinet member. The longtime aide will serve as Biden’s chief of staff after a long history of working with the former Vice President. Klain served as Biden’s chief of staff during the Obama administration and also advised Biden during his two previous presidential runs in 1988 and 2008

According to Fox News:

“Ron has been invaluable to me over the many years that we have worked together, including as we rescued the American economy from one of the worst downturns in our history in 2009 and later overcame a daunting public health emergency in 2014,” Biden said in a statement. “His deep, varied experience and capacity to work with people all across the political spectrum is precisely what I need in a White House chief of staff as we confront this moment of crisis and bring our country together again.”

“It’s the honor of a lifetime to serve President-elect Biden in this role, and I am humbled by his confidence,” Klain said in a statement. “I look forward to helping him and the Vice President-elect assemble a talented and diverse team to work in the White House, as we tackle their ambitious agenda for change, and seek to heal the divides in our country.”

However, it seems Klain has already found himself in hot water after tweets resurfaced where he said elections are “rigged.” In 2014, an article was published based on findings from a Rasmussen poll that said “68% of Americans think elections are rigged.”

Klain replied to the article on Twitter saying, “That’s because they are.”

The Vox article Klain responded to was about gerrymandering and incumbents reelection rates.

Fox News reports:

Wrote Vox’s Ezra Klein: “The problem here isn’t fraud. In elections, like in so much else, the scandal is what’s legal.

Klein continued: “Incumbents get a voice in gerrymandering — meaning that the politicians, in an inversion of the normal rules of democracy, get to choose their voters.”

Trump’s tweets regarding election fraud have been flagged by Twitter however Klain’s tweet has not.
