The Wisconsin Supreme Court has officially voted against hearing the Trump legal team’s lawsuit. The rejection comes amid a string of losses for the Trump legal team that are challenging the election results in multiple battleground states. The lawsuit rejected by the WI Supreme Court requested that some 221,000 ballots from the state’s two largest counties be thrown out alleging irregularities on how absentee ballots were administered.

The final vote was 4-3 against the suit with swing Justice Brian Hagedorn joining with three other Liberal justices who believe that case must first be heard in lower courts where factual discrepancies can be ironed out. The Trump team was hoping to go straight to be Supreme Court given the time crunch before Electors cast their votes on Dec. 14.

The lawsuit alleged that election officials violated the law by filling in missing address information on absentee ballots and that thousands of absentee ballots were missing the necessary filed written application but election officials accepted them anyways.

Chief Justice Patience Roggensack, who voted for the Court to hear the case, reasoned that the court owes it to the public to hear the case given it’s potential to impact future elections.

Despite being handed the loss by the WI Supreme Court the Trump team recently filed another lawsuit in the state’s federal courts alleging similar claims of voter irregularities. Conservatives also have multiple lawsuits pending in the state seeking to throw out illegal ballots
