Chip Roy
Representative Chip Roy noted his personal feelings of outrage towards the presidential election but stood firm that according to the Constitution the power to appoint electors rests within the states. In a statement, Rep. Roy said that Trump’s last chance to stay in the White House comes down to battleground states where instances of voter fraud have occurred certifying Trump electors.
I am as outraged as anyone about the still-unanswered questions about the election. But the Constitution is clear:
States select electors. Congress does not.
