The aftermath of this event has left Americans from all sides of the aisle devastated. Senate offices were ransacked and destroyed. Four people died. One woman was an Air Force veteran and she was shot by police as a mob tried to break into a barricaded door where police were armed on the other side. Three others died due to medical emergencies” D.C. police arrested 52 people for curfew violations. 13 people were transported by an ambulance as a result of the violent incidents. 14 police officers were injured, two with serious injuries. Police recovered pipe bombs from RNC and DNC and found a vehicle on Capitol grounds with a long gun and Molotov cocktails. And at the end of the day, many GOP members switched their vote after this horrifying event to not object to the electoral ballots.
The Republican Party will never be the same after January 6th, 2021.
