President Trump has made his first remarks since the Capitol Hill riot and has warned that impeachment is a danger to the U.S. and is “absolutely ridiculous.”

According to CNBC:

President Donald Trump on Tuesday said that it was dangerous to the United States for him to be impeached for inciting a riot of his supporters at the Capitol last week.

Trump, who faces an expected impeachment by the House of Representatives, also claimed that “I want no violence,” during brief remarks to reporters as he left the White House to travel to Texas.

Trump’s comments were the first time that he had spoken to the media since last Wednesday, when thousands of his suppporters invaded the halls of Congress, killing a Capitol police officer. (Note: This has not been proven to be true.)

President Trump also slammed the new impeachment as a continuation of the witch hunt.
