Lindsey Graham
South Carolina’s Lindsey Graham is a longtime Trump supporter, often helping the President garner support amongst the Senate. It’s highly unlikely the Republican will start from Trump’s side and vote to impeach. Last night, following the House’s vote to impeach Trump Lindsey Graham called McConnell’s decision not to reconvene the Senate early the “right decision.”
The House impeached President Trump without a hearing or witness, and the Senate Democrats would be willing to continue this division and legitimize the House procedures.
Senator McConnell’s decision to withhold consent to start the trial before inauguration is the right call.
