“The American people spoke”
During the Senate trial’s first day of proceedings, Trump’s defense attorney Bruce Castor shocked listeners and prompted headlines when he said, “The American people just spoke and they just changed administrations.” That one sentence alone caused The New York Times to run articles titled, “Trump Never Conceded He Lost, But His Impeachment Lawyer did” which undoubtedly didn’t make Trump happy.
