Jordan Tygh suffered an enormous injustice, thanks to Democrat politicians and their bodyguards in the Left-wing media. They lied about this U.S. Coast Guard veteran last fall and defamed his sterling reputation. They called him a vote-fraud conspirator when he was nothing of the sort. Tygh merely posed for a photo beside a ballot drop-off box in Orange County, California that the state Republican Party installed as a defensive tactic against Democrat ballot harvesting.
Democrats in Sacramento legalized ballot harvesting and deployed that practice to great effect in the 2018 mid-term elections. They used it to knock California Republicans out of seven of the 14 U.S. House seats that they controlled. Indeed, these Republicans prevailed on Election Night, only to see their margins of victory wither away as Democrat-harvested ballots trickled in and devolved GOP leads into Democrat pickups.
It was not Tygh’s idea to fight ballot fire with ballot fire. But when the CAGOP decided to do so, he promoted this effort, which was totally legal; Republican Party attorneys scrupulously vetted this program and assured that it complied with the very ballot-harvesting statute that Democrats approved and then signed into law.
The GOP’s big mistake was assuming that it was OK for them to follow the law and use the same political tactics that worked so well for Democrats just two years earlier.
So, last October, when Tygh posted on Twitter a photo of himself beside a GOP ballot dropbox, social media, and legacy-media mushroom clouds exploded above his head.
Reddit called him “Con Artist Jordan Tygh.”
A Leftist group called Meidas Touch fumed via Twitter: “This is a fake ballot box. This is attempted voter fraud and voter suppression. Jordan should expect a visit from the FBI and get used to life as a felon.”
“Someone should stuff him in that box,” ABC talk-show host and “comedian” Jimmy Kimmel said about Tygh. “Make no mistake, there’s no limit to what these people will do to steal this vote.”
California’s then-attorney general, now America’s Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra, declared via Twitter: “Anyone who tampers with the vote is tampering with a free and fair election. Not on my watch.” Even worse, he launched a state vote-fraud investigation against CAGOP and filed suit against it, to boot. Republicans won all of their legal battles on this issue.
Then, on November 20, long after these bruising headlines hobbled Republicans at the polls, Becerra dropped the probe and litigation. He said, “We are confident that this election was safe and secure in California – as it was across the country.”
Never mind!
This is pure abuse of power.
Just like Nicholas Sandmann and the young men from Kentucky’s Covington Catholic High School, Jordan Tygh was smeared and muddied by social-media loudmouths, journalists, entertainers, and public officials. He has been unable to find work since last autumn and has had no choice but to move back in with his parents. This is called defamation of character, and it should carry legal repercussions.
Tygh deserves his day in court, so he can restore his good name, collect financial damages against his predators, and remind others that anyone who spews lies about someone else deserves to pay a high price for inflicting reputational wounds on someone who did nothing to deserve such abuse.
Tygh launched a GoFundMe page to help him finance litigation that should help him extract a ray of sunshine from this abundant darkness. Noted California conservative advocate and civil rights attorney Harmeet Dhillon represents Tygh.
I contributed early to Tygh’s GoFundMe effort. He is about 11 percent of the way toward his $15,000 goal. I urge fellow conservatives, Republicans, and Americans of goodwill to support Tygh’s quest for justice.
I am proud to stand with Jordan Tygh and wish him huge success in this important endeavor.
