For now, Trump has fallen into a role as kingmaker for the Republican Party. The former president’s endorsements seem to be worth their weight in gold when it comes to GOP candidates and challengers. Republican lawmakers know that Trump’s considerable influence on the public and the party is likely going nowhere anytime soon. If Trump chooses not to mount another presidential campaign he could continue to exert his major influence on the party all the way from Mar-A-Lago.
