Michael Flynn is denying he endorsed a “Myanmar-style coup” in the United States in order to re-instate Trump as president. Flynn, a former national security adviser to Trump raised eyebrows after making a comment at a conference hosted by QAnon conspiracy theorists seemingly suggesting a military coup should happen.

According to The Hill:

Any reporting of any other belief by me is a boldface fabrication based on twisted reporting at a lively panel at a conference of Patriotic Americans who love this country, just as I do,” he added.

“I am no stranger to media manipulating my words and therefore let me repeat my response to a question asked at the conference: There is no reason it (a coup) should happen here (in America),” Flynn continued.

Someone from the audience asked, “I want to know why what happened in Myanmar can’t happen here?”

After the crowd responded with cheers, Flynn responded, “No reason. I mean it, it should happen here.”

QAnon supporters also referenced the Myanmar Coup after the conference signaled support for the idea that Trump is “re-instated.”

The only way to remove a sitting president is through impeachment and conviction and even if Biden and Harris were impeached the Constitution has a clearly prescribed line of presidential succession. Despite continued claims that the 2020 presidential election was stolen due to widespread fraud the only way for Trump to become president again is to be elected by the people.
