According to the report conducted by Third Way, the Collective PAC, and the Latino Victory Fund COVID-19 played a significant role in shifting elections in 2020. The unprecedented epidemic turned the country upside down for more than a year and Democrat leaders often favored more restrictive policies and mandates in the name of “public health.” What many Americans saw as a gross infringement of freedoms the left claimed was the only way forward, often guilting and shaming citizens into compliance. Ultimately, the Coronavirus cost Democrats seats across the country while enforcing lockdowns and mandates that did not work.
