A provision of Democrat’s For The People Act includes turning Washington, D.C. into the 51st state, which Sen. Manchin says he does not support. “If Congress wants to make D.C. a state, it should propose a constitutional amendment and let the people of America vote,” Manchin told reporters in West Virginia.
